Hello, Hello, Hello,

Welcome back!!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and a restful break.  We have one week left in this semester and therefore that last chance to bring up any grades with corrections or any late assignments.  Also I am super excited that the following week intermediate gets to try out a new online grade book.  Some parents have already received welcome letters.  Please e-mail me your thoughts on the new grade book so that we can decide if it is worth purchasing next year. 

This week we will be wrapping up The Island of the Blue Dolphins.  We are going to once again do the paper bag book report.  I was really pleased with how well they turned out last time that I want to do it again.   Students are allowed to draw pictures as there are fewer items that can be found around the house for this book however if they still need to be done well in order to receive full credit.  Otherwise we will be continuing with verbs, and a new spelling list.  As far as writing we will be writing a response to literature essay on the Island of the Blue Dolphins.  This will make some students very happy as they have made some really great connections and have been previously not allowed to write about those connections. 

I am adding some old assignment links in case students are missing them.  I do apologize that they were not put on earlier last week was beyond packed and then I started feeling so bad that I ended up having to call in sick on Friday.  As a result some of the assignments that should have been collected may or may not have been turned in.  Because I was not there I will not even take late points.  These assignments were due the Friday before break- winter cursive, the three little pigs essay

Monday- Copy and Spell, WOD, Tuesday- Word Meaning, WOD, Wednesday-Word Study, WOD, Thursday-Cover an Spell/Edit for Spelling, WOD

Monday- Thursday = Read 20 minutes and write two descriptive sentences about what was read.

By Friday- Cursive (This is given out on Monday and two words will be chosen as bonus spelling words.)
