Hello Everyone,
I am so happy with how well our first week of school went. The students are starting to get back into the hang of what is expected and classroom routines. Unfortunately, we have had to rearrange our schedules slightly to accommodate new p.e. times. However, I think that it will work out just fine. In my class this week we will begin reading our first novel The Great Gilly Hopkins! We will continue with our Word of the Day and Daily Oral Language activities. We will be adding more Grammar work to our routine. Students received a list of prepositions last week they will need to memorize this list and on Friday we will take a test where they will need to know the words listed under A & B. We have two more Thinking Maps that we need to complete as well this week to finish off our introduction. I look forward to seeing parents from last year and meeting our new Telesis parents at the Back to School Night on Tuesday!

New School Year
Hello All,
I am so excited to welcome everyone to a new school year. We are offering new programs, more specific help for students and a very well rounded curriculum. Also changing this year is what I am teaching! I am the traditional fifth grade Language Arts teacher. And I have to share that a former student that is used to me being the Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher asked on the first day if I knew how to teach Language Arts. I assure you that I do have several years of experience teaching reading, writing and grammar and any of the other skills associated with the Language Arts. As we approach the first full week of school I look forward to some new activities, learning more about our new class members and helping both students and parents in any way that I can.
On the Blog- Along the sides please click on links that will give you note pages, scoring guides and keep you up to date on school events.
This week we will begin implementing elements of our normal routine. We will also continue to do some of the background activities that will be used when we fully get into our normal schedule.
I promise to stay as on top of the links and homework as much as possible. This week everything except for the reading homework has been done in class and students have been doing wonderfully. I therefore did not put the links on if anyone still wants to see it please add a comment and I will put them on!
